Tobacco use has been rated as the #1 caues of desease and mortality in the United States, contributing to 400,000 deathes each year. Watonga Municipal Hospital positions itself as a front runner in the against unnecessary risk factors that our citizens expose themselves to.
Education to the fact that tobacco is harmful to your health was the first stage of our "Healthy Lifestyles" program. Advocating clean air and reducing effects of second hand smoke exposer was stage two.
The smoking cessation clinic was established by the efforts of Jeff Fritz, to help smokers eliminate the addiction to tobacco. Following the first steps of "Fresh Start" endorsed by the American Cancer Society. the clinics rapidly move into support groups to reinforce the participants efforts to change their lifestyles.
If you have decided to quit...or have quit many times before without success, please consider this free community service to improve the quality of your health and to free you from physical addiction of tobacco.
Clinics are conveinantly scheduled quarterly to meet the participants schedules. meeting two times a week for three weeks, with weekly support groups until participants feel free, may work for you as it has for others.
With affiliation with the Tobacco Free Coalition we keep ourselves current with new statistics about turning the tide on this unnecessary risk factor. Jeff has been a recent mini-grant recipiant to help reduce the rising numbers of youthful smokers.
